Lawyers.ge at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg

February 2025, Luxemburg, France

On 23–24 February 2025, Georgian Lawyers for the Independent Profession (GLIP) together with members of the Georgian Association of Women Auditors and Lawyers visited the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg for a specialized study visit. Our Managing Partner, Nino Tatoshvili, represented Lawyers.ge as part of this professional delegation.

The program included an in-depth seminar on how the European Court of Justice operates in practice — from how cases are filed and examined, to how EU law is interpreted and enforced across member states and associated countries. For lawyers working in international and cross-border matters, this knowledge is essential, because EU legal standards increasingly influence migration, human-rights, corporate and administrative cases far beyond the borders of the European Union.

A key part of the visit was attendance at a live court hearing, where the judges examined the interpretation of European Directives on international protection and the designation of “safe countries”. These are exactly the types of issues that affect asylum seekers, foreign residents, families, and businesses who depend on lawful and fair treatment by state authorities.

The visit concluded with a special dinner hosted by the Vice-President of the General Court together with other distinguished members of the Court — an exceptional opportunity for Georgian legal professionals to engage directly with Europe’s highest judicial authorities.

For Lawyers.ge and our international clients, this experience means more than professional prestige. It strengthens our ability to navigate European-level legal standards in real cases involving residency, protection, family law, and cross-border disputes. We are proud that our firm is actively connected to the institutions where European legal principles are shaped and applied. 🇬🇪 🇪🇺
